L’IO-RB signe une convention de partenariat avec l’IEOQ : Le Québec et la Bretagne se rapprochent pour la formation et la recherche en ostéopathie

L’Institut d’Enseignement de l’Ostéopathie du Québec (IEOQ) et l’Institut d’Ostéopathie de Rennes-Bretagne (IO-RB) ont signé une convention de partenariat en faveur d’un programme international de mobilité des étudiants en ostéopathie, dans les domaines de la formation et de la recherche. L’élaboration de contenus pédagogiques communs, la promotion de la mobilité des étudiants pour la pratique clinique ostéopathique, la création de projets de recherche mais aussi l’acquisition d’un double diplôme sont visés par ce parcours international. Le partenariat entre les deux écoles se concrétisera dès le 21 avril 2021 avec une conférence co-organisée à l’occasion de la semaine internationale de l’ostéopathie.

Un double diplôme pour favoriser la reconnaissance de la profession au Québec et faciliter l’installation des ostéopathes français à l’étranger

La création d’un parcours international pour les étudiants en ostéopathie va permettre l’obtention du diplôme de l’institut partenaire, par un système de VAE (Validation des Acquis de l’Expérience), conformément au décret de décembre 2014 encadrant la formation en ostéopathie en France. L’enjeu est double : faciliter l’installation des ostéopathes français au Québec – région plébiscitée pour son cadre de vie, et accréditer la profession dans un pays où l’ostéopathie est sur le point d’être reconnue. L’objectif est aussi de promouvoir les collaborations avec les enseignants et chercheurs évoluant dans les instituts partenaires pour le développement de la recherche en ostéopathie. « Ce partenariat entre nos deux régions francophones s’inscrit dans une démarche politique avec la mise en commun de nos efforts, pour accréditer la profession dans le milieu médical et scientifique » [Marylène Bourgin, ostéopathe fondatrice de l’IO-RB]. L’IEOQ, fondé en 1995, bénéficie d’une expérience très forte dans le domaine de l’enseignement ostéopathique. L’IO-RB, fondé en 2010, a atteint un niveau d’excellence en seulement 10 ans grâce à la reconnaissance de la profession en France.

Favoriser l’échange des savoirs grâce à des séjours pour la pratique clinique

Les échanges entre les deux pays vont se matérialiser par des séjours courts pendant lesquels les étudiants pratiqueront des soins ostéopathiques dans les centres de consultations respectifs des écoles. Le digital sera quant à lui utilisé pour les apports théoriques. Une conférence co-organisée par les deux écoles pendant la semaine internationale de l’ostéopathie constituera notamment un acte fondateur : « Cela sera l’occasion d’officialiser le partenariat par une action conjointe associant pédagogie et recherche avec notamment la présentation des travaux réalisés dans le cadre de mémoires de fin d’études des étudiants [Thomas Gautier, ostéopathe et directeur l’IEOQ].

Pour les étudiants, ce programme international de mobilité entre l'IEOQ et l'IO-RB est une occasion de développer leur champ de compétences, de s'ouvrir à de nouvelles expériences d'apprentissage, de découvrir une autre culture, de construire un futur réseau et d'acquérir une expérience internationale en ostéopathie. Pour les instituts et leurs enseignants, l'objectif est d'acquérir des orientations pédagogiques novatrices, de partager les bonnes pratiques en matière d’enseignement et de renforcer leur pratique professionnelle.

L’Institut d’Ostéopathie de Rennes-Bretagne (IO-RB) est l'unique école d'ostéopathie post-bac en Bretagne. Il est situé sur le Campus Universitaire de Ker Lann à Bruz. Quebec and Brittany are moving collaboratively toward education and research in osteopathy 

The Institut d’Enseignement de l’Ostéopathie du Québec (IEOQ) and the Institut d’Ostéopathie de Rennes-Bretagne (IO-RB) have concluded a partnership agreement for an International Mobility Program for osteopathy students in the fields of education and research. The development of common pedagogical contents, the development of a student mobility program, the elaboration of collaborative research projects and the achievement of a double diploma are targeted by this international program. The partnership between the two schools will be concretized with a co-organized conference in April 21, 2021 during the International Osteopathy Week. 

A double diploma to promote the recognition of the profession in Quebec and facilitate the establishment of French osteopaths abroad

The development of an international program for osteopathy students will allow them to obtain the diploma of the partner institute, through a VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience) process, in accordance with the decree of December 2014 regulating osteopathy training in France.The challenge is twofold : to facilitate the installation of French osteopaths in Quebec - a region well known for its living environment - and to accredit the profession in a country where osteopathy is on the road to being recognized. The objective is also to promote collaborations with teachers and researchers working in partner institutes for the development of osteopathic research. "This partnership between our two French-speaking regions is part of a political process with the common effort to accredit the profession in the medical and scientific environment" [Marylène Bourgin, osteopath and executive manager of the IO-RB]. The IEOQ, founded in 1995, benefits from a very strong experience in the field of osteopathic education. The IO-RB, founded in 2010, has reached a level of excellence in only 10 years thanks to the recognition of the profession in France.

Promote the exchange of knowledge through stays for clinical practice 

The exchanges between the two countries will take the form of short stays during which the students will practice osteopathic care in the schools' respective consultation centers. Digital technology will be used for theoretical contributions. A conference co-organized by the two schools during the international week of osteopathy will constitute a founding act: "This will be an opportunity to formalize the partnership through a joint action combining education and research, including the presentation of work done in the framework of students' final dissertations [Thomas Gautier, osteopath and executive manager of the IEOQ]. 

For the students, this international mobility program between IEOQ and IO-RB is an opportunity to develop new skills, to open up to new learning experiences, to discover another culture, to build a future network and to gain international experience in osteopathy. For the institutes and their teachers, the objective is to acquire new pedagogical orientations, to share good teaching practices and to strengthen their professional practice.

The Institut d’Ostéopathie de Rennes-Bretagne (IO-RB) is the only post-baccalaureate osteopathy school in Brittany. It is located on the University Campus of Ker-lann in Bruz. It trains osteopaths following a five-year course of excellence, based on 6 strong values: rigor and rigorousness, integrity and honesty, humility and benevolence. The activity of the IO-RB contributes to the influence of Brittany on a national and international level: the school realizes 46% of its turnover with candidates from outside Brittany.
